Doors Open Ottawa (City of Ottawa Heritage)
Starting in 2002, many sites and buildings of architectural, historic or other interest began opening their doors to the public once a year, free of charge, for a day or a weekend. Most of buildings are normally not open to the public. Among them are beautiful embassies, tranquil places of worship, exciting museums, luxuriant gardens, astonishing artists’ studios and fascinating scientific laboratories. Some offer guided tours and exhibitions while others invite you simply to wander at will. Since the first Doors Open, more 255,000 residents and tourists have enjoyed Ottawa’s most important architectural and heritage opportunity.
